How do we organise ourselves?
Local Meetings: There are four local meetings, Kendal, Sedbergh (Brigflatts), Kirkby Stephen and Preston Patrick in this area. They all have separate business responsibilities.
Area Meeting: The four local meetings constitute an area community of Friends called Kendal and Sedbergh Area Meeting. Each local meeting sends representatives to regular area business meetings to consider issues such as finance, maintenance of our Meeting Houses etc.
Westmorland General Meeting: This regional gathering takes place three times a year and includes Meetings from South Lakeland, Furness and parts of North Lancashire.
Britain Yearly Meeting: The national body of Friends in Britain meets annually for worship and business and is open to all members of the society. Our central offices are at Friends House in London.
